“The wrong voting system”, says a simulation

The IHT reports that the wrong voting system was chosen in Iraq, according to an unexplained voting simulation.

The single non-transferable vote system was apparently recommended by UN officials because it is easy to administer, but alas it virtually guarantees the formation of an unrepresentative parliament.” The article refers to a voting simulation which apparently demonstrates that small amounts of party organisation can have disproportionate effects on the election results.

An example of the loose use of simulation to mean I stuffed some data into a black box and out came a reply that proves my point…

Journalistically comparable to informed sources said…, meaning another reporter I met in the bar just now thinks that…

Shame the IHT havent read Michael Drennans paper (see previous post on the blog).
