Example from a local US paper of the use of a simulation to sell a concept.
“To ensure an understanding of the problems facing Green Pond, R. Charles Martinsen lll, Falmouth shellfish warden and assistant director of the department of natural resources, gave a presentation last month to about 80 members of the Green Pond Association. Mr. Martinsen said he used a computer simulation program to illustrate how the pond would be affected if fresh water discharges arent curtailed and if placement of docks and piers continues unabated…. Mr. Martinsen displayed the image alongside an aerial view of the pond from about 50 years ago. His message was simple: “If you don’t make changes, this is what you’ll end up with.””
This was part of the process of applying for a $50k grant.
