According to the Peoples Daily Online, Hong Kong has just held an avian flu exercise.
220 players from 30 departments and organizations took part.
The scenario involved a Hong Kong resident who developed flu symptoms after visiting a third country.
The exercise tracked that way that:

– epidemiological investigation and contact tracing started
– the HK Emergency Preparedness plan for Influenza Pandemic was activated
– the HK Chief Executive called a high level steering committee.
The Chief Executive said later: “After todays experience, we will be able to respond to any outbreak in a more timely and appropriate manner”.
